When you hear the word quinceañera, what’s the first thing that comes to mind?

For me, it’s the dress. Always the dress.

I instantly picture something big and puffy—like the gowns we see in Disney movies. Something straight out of Beauty and the Beast or Cinderella. Maybe even a floral look like Aurora’s from Sleeping Beauty. The quince gown is iconic—it’s what sets the tone.

So when I see a quinceañera celebrating her big day in a prom-style dress instead, I pause—and then I fall in love with it too. It’s still her quince. It’s still elegant. And it brings a softer, modern kind of princess vibe that feels just right.

That was exactly the case with Andrea.

Yes, it’s a bit of a drive—about 40 minutes north of downtown Phoenix—but this place is so worth it. It’s full of photo-friendly features:

• Two peaceful lakes

• Rolling green lawns

• A beautiful rose bed at the entrance

• A grand waterfall that looks like it belongs behind a castle

• And if you’re visiting with family? There’s a train ride, a skate park, sports fields, a playground, and even an outdoor amphitheater.

But for a portrait session? That waterfall is the star of the show.
